BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN HEALTH CARE LEADERSHIP AND SUPERVISION (A VALID AND CURRENT HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONAL LICENSE CERTIFICATION AND/OR REGISTRY IS REQUIRED.)
Degree Description
The Bachelor of Health Science Degree in Health Care Leadership and Supervision (BHSLS) core is a 47-credit hour, 83-week program designed to expand a studentıs critical thinking skills while providing the student with a solid foundation in health care administration and leadership principles and their contemporary applications in the workplace. (A minimum of 46 hours of transferable credits is required for admission to this program offered through the Center for Lifelong Learning.)
Admission Requirements
To be admitted to the Bachelor of Health Science Degree Program in Health Care Leadership and Supervision, a prospective student should meet the following requirements:
- Evidence of high school graduation - transcript, diploma or GED
- An earned Associate Degree in a health care related field from a regionally accredited institution with an overall grade point average of 2.00 or higher - or - a graduate of a hospital based program approved by the appropriate credentialling agency.
(NOTE: 30 credits may be awarded for a hospital based nursing program. However, this is only for the Bachelor in Health Science Degree Program. GMC's School of Nursing has different requirements and may require challenge examinations.)
- A valid and current health care professional license and/or registry
- Two or more years' full-time work experience within the professional field of licensure, certification, and/or registration.
- A score of 500 or above on the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or 85 or above on the MTLP (Michigan Test of English Language Proficiency) for students whose native language is not English.
