Bachelor's Degrees at Gwynedd-Mercy College

The Gwynedd-Mercy College accredited bachelor's degree program entails the completion of advanced coursework in the field that most interests the adult student. Gwynedd-Mercy College students earn their bachelor's degree in order to graduate with the accredited distinction and advance in their careers or to finish the program and continue on to the master's degree program. This Philadelphia college provides adult students with a number of programs and fields to choose from and makes earning their bachelor's degree manageable as they maintain their outside obligations.

Bachelor of Health Science in Health Care Leadership and Supervision

Degree Description The Bachelor of Health Science Degree in Health Care Leadership and Supervision (BHSLS) core is a 47-credit hour, 83-week program designed to expand a student's critical thinking skills while providing the student with a solid foundation in health care administration and leadership principles and their contemporary applications in the workplace. (A minimum of 46 hours of transferable credits is required for admission to this program offered through the Center for Lifelong Learning.)

Admission Requirements

To be admitted to the Bachelor of Health Science Degree Program in Health Care Leadership and Supervision, a prospective student should meet the following requirements:

  • Evidence of high school graduation - transcript, diploma or GED
  • An associate degree in a health care related field from a regionally accredited institution with an overall grade point average of 2.00 or higher - or - a graduate of a hospital based program approved by the appropriate credentialing agency. (NOTE: 30 credits may be awarded for a hospital based nursing program. However, this is only for the Bachelor in Health Science Degree Program. GMC's School of Nursing has different requirements and may require challenge examinations.)
  • A valid and current health care professional license and/or registry
  • Two or more years' full-time work experience within the professional field of licensure, certification, and/or registration.
  • A score of 500 or above on the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or 85 or above on the MTLP (Michigan Test of English Language Proficiency) for students whose native language is not English.

Bachelor of Science in Business Administration

Degree Description The Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration (BSBA) core is a 45-credit hour, 80-week program designed to expand a student's critical thinking skills while providing the student with a solid foundation in business administration principles and their contemporary applications in the workplace. (A minimum of 46 hours of transferable credits is required for admission to the B.S.B.A. program.)

Admission Requirements

To be admitted to the Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration program, a prospective student should meet the following requirements:

  • Evidence of high school graduation - transcript, diploma or GED.
  • 46 semester hours of transferable credit - C or better.
  • The equivalent of two years full-time work experience.
  • A score of 500 or above on the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or 85 or above on the MTLP (Michigan Test of English Language Proficiency) for students whose native language is not English.

    Bachelor of Science in Nursing

    Degree Description The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) core is a 45-credit hour, 78-week program designed to expand a student's critical thinking skills while providing the student with a solid foundation in the principles and practices of nursing, and their contemporary applications in the workplace. (A minimum of an Associate degree in nursing or equivalent RN diploma is required for admission to the B.S.N. Program.)

    Admission Requirements

    To be admitted to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, a prospective student should meet the following requirements:

    • Evidence of high school graduation - transcript, diploma or GED.
    • An earned Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN/ADN) degree from a regionally accredited institution with a overall grade point average of 2.00/OR the equivalent from a diploma school* approved by the State Board of Nursing and the National League for Nursing (NLN) Accreditation Commission.
    • A valid and current registered nurse license to practice within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
    • Current employment as a Registered Nurse.
    • A score of 500 or above on the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or 85 or above on the MTLP (Michigan Test of English Language Proficiency) for students whose native language is not English.
    *Depending on educational preparation, Diploma Nurses may require coursework or its equivalent (through challenge exams and/or CLEP Tests) to qualify for this program.
